Mission Statement
It is the mission of Above The Rim Youth Basketball League (ATRYBL) to provide and promote a safe, recreational basketball program for the youth of San Mateo and its surrounding communities. To this end, ATRYBL encourages good sportsmanship, developing strong playing skills, and promoting friendly relationships among the players, coaches, referees and parents.

Please fill the register application down below for the ATRYBL Fall 2009 Season. You must register on-line to sign up for the Fall season and pay the $135 per player fee by credit card. Our secure on-line credit card payment is the required method of payment. Checks will not be accepted during the on-line registration period.

ABOUT US
ATRYBL is a volunteer, non-profit organization serving children(Girls & Boys) in grades 3 through 8 residing in San Mateo and the surrounding communities. We are a recreational league as opposed to a competitive or traveling one. There are tryouts or skills assessments. We are dedicated to providing a safe environment in which kids can learn and enjoy the game of basketball. We encourage and emphasize good sportsmanship, the development of individual skills and the importance of teamwork.
Fall League
REGISTRATION: Season starts August 23rd 2009 Still taking Registration
FEES: Registration fees are $135 per player and $100 for each additional child. These fees go towards jerseys, training clinics, referees, program books, insurance, and rental of the gyms.
GAMES: Our season consists of about 10 games, beginning on the first weekend in August and ending in early November or Late November. Games are played on Sunday afternoons Noon to 7 PM. Usually a team plays only one game a weekend. However, on occasion, game scheduling may require a team to play 2 on Sunday. There are no ATRYBL games scheduled on Labor Day Weekend.
CLINICS: Once a month clinics for 3rd thru 6th, & 7th thru 8th. we offer a training clinic for boys, a separate clinic for girls. Enhance Individual Skills consist of basketball speed & agility training, skills specific drills for weaknesses in an athlete's game, position training and lots of encouragement also Developing a Winning Attitude
UNIFORMS: Each player will be provided a reversible team jersey. It is up to each player to provide a solid black pair of shorts. Players should wear non-marring shoes. No watches, jewelry, or hair pins are allowed. Players with braces are encouraged to wear mouth guards and those wearing glasses are encouraged to wear eyeglass straps.
GYMS: All games will be played at either College Of San Mateo(1700 West Hillsdale Blvd, San Mateo) or at Sequoia High School (1201 Brewster Ave, Redwood City). No food, gum or drinks are allowed in the gyms. Only capped (preferably pop-up caps) water bottles are permitted.
PLAYOFFS: All teams in the 5th through 8th grades, regardless of their won-loss record, participate in the playoffs. There are no playoffs for the 3rd and 4th grades.
REFEREES: The referees for grades 3 through 8 are comprised of trained high school and college students. A separate, outside organization provides referees..
